The central chassis of the Samsung Galaxy S24 is the metal piece onto which everything else in the device is fixed: screen, battery, motherboard, internal flex cables. A bent or cracked chassis, or one whose fixing points have given way after a fall, prevents the screen from sitting correctly and weakens the whole device, even once the screen has been replaced.

Recognising a chassis that needs replacing

An impact taken on the edge, a screen that no longer aligns with the edges of the phone, or screws that no longer find their thread are the most common signs of a deformed chassis. In these cases, replacing only the screen fixes nothing: fitted onto a bent frame, the new screen won't hold correctly.

Replacing the chassis restores the device's original geometry, a necessary condition for the screen, battery and back cover to sit as intended by the manufacturer.

An original Samsung part, delivered as Service Pack

This chassis is an original manufacturer part, delivered as Service Pack: it comes from the same production lines as chassis fitted at the factory, in the repair packaging reserved for authorised Samsung centres. Nothing has been repaired or refurbished on it, it is a new part.

It carries the manufacturer reference GH82-33418A, to be compared with that of the chassis currently fitted before ordering, to make sure it is indeed the same part.

Fitting a central chassis: what it involves

Replacing a central chassis is a major operation: the motherboard, battery and connectors must be transferred onto the new chassis, then each flex cable reconnected before closing the device. A single flex cable not properly clipped in can cut off the Wi-Fi, the camera or the fingerprint sensor.

This operation requires a set of precision screwdrivers and suitable spudgers so as not to damage the internal flex cables. It is intended for a repairer used to fully disassembling the Galaxy S24 (S921B).
