This 8MP rear camera replaces the telephoto module of the Samsung Galaxy A72 (A725F and A726B) when the optical zoom no longer works, the image is blurry at long distance, or the camera app displays an error when switching to zoom mode. The 8-megapixel sensor provides the ×3 optical zoom of the device's quad camera system: it enables photographing a distant subject without quality loss or digital pixelation.

Package contents and exact compatibility

The package contains the complete camera module with its 8MP sensor, connection flex cable, and metal bracket. It mounts in the telephoto slot of the rear camera block, between the 64MP main sensor and the 5MP macro sensor. Compatible only with the Samsung Galaxy A72 in its two variants A725F (4G) and A726B (5G): check the model number printed on the back of the device or in settings, under "About phone".

This module does not fit the Galaxy A52, which has a different camera system, nor the Galaxy A73, which uses a telephoto camera of different resolution. Each model in the A series has its own optical configuration: a part designed for the A72 physically fits only that device.

Installation conditions and precautions

Replacement requires complete disassembly of the rear glass and removal of the camera cover to access the four camera modules. The telephoto flex cable disconnects from the motherboard via a ZIF connector: lift the locking flap before pulling the cable, any forced pulling tears off the connector. Heat the perimeter of the rear glass to approximately 80°C to soften the adhesive, then use a suction cup and pick to peel it off without breaking it.

Once the module is installed, test the optical zoom and autofocus before closing: launch the camera app, switch to ×3 mode, verify that focus occurs by touching the screen and that the image remains stable. An improperly seated sensor or twisted flex cable prevents the camera from working without any error message appearing. Clean the lens with a microfiber cloth before replacing the cover: a glue mark or dust between the glass and sensor permanently degrades sharpness.

This module comes with a 2-year warranty covering any malfunction found under normal use conditions. The warranty applies to the sensor, connection flex cable, and focusing system: it excludes damage caused by a drop after installation, improper handling during installation, or oxidation due to liquid contact.
