On LCD, even at black, the backlight remains active and produces a slightly tinted gray. This difference affects perceived contrast: videos, photos, and dark interfaces gain more depth on OLED.

Soft OLED uses a flexible polymer display instead of a rigid one. This flexibility allows the touch layer to integrate seamlessly without an air gap, making the screen more compact and improving optical coherence of the image. Colors, once calibrated, remain faithful according to viewing angle, an advantage that LCD does not offer on all models.

Recognizing a Damaged Screen on iPhone 12 Pro

Restoring Features Upon Connection

Upon installation, the iOS system will recognize an unknown part. True Tone, the automatic color temperature compensation, is not available on a compatible screen without intervention. If you wish to restore it, a specialized programmer (QianLi or JC) can rewrite calibration data in the screen's memory chip. This step is optional: the screen functions fully without it, True Tone is simply absent from the menu.

Installation requires removing the battery for safety reasons, then carefully peeling off the old display with a heat tool. Adhesive for fastening is not included: the package does not contain any. You will need to obtain some separately if needed to affix the new screen to the chassis.
