Recognizing a faulty front camera

The front camera of the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE handles video calls, selfies and facial recognition authentication. You replace it when the image becomes blurry, when it no longer activates, when it displays an error message or when autofocus refuses to work. A broken front camera renders the device unusable for all three of these uses at once.

This original manufacturer part is extracted from Samsung production lines. It carries the same optical lens, the same circuits and the same ribbon cable as the one installed at the factory on the Galaxy S24 FE. Unlike compatible cameras offered elsewhere, it has undergone no refurbishment, no component changes.

What sets an original manufacturer part apart

An original Samsung camera comes from the same facilities as the new device. It meets Samsung's exact optical standards: pixel definition, color rendering, low-light performance. A compatible camera, even if tested, comes from third-party manufacturers and offers variable sensor quality depending on the batch.

You see the difference in your first selfie. The original device reproduces the same tones as the rear camera. A cheap compatible part often adds a yellowish or bluish tint, especially when light is low. On a front camera, this is what every video call will show the other person for six months or two years.

Compatible with Galaxy S24 FE only

This camera is manufactured for the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE (model S721B). It does not install on any other Galaxy S24, nor on previous or subsequent generations. A standard Galaxy S24 has different optics, as do the S24 Plus and S24 Ultra. Each model carries its own reference and its own connectors.

Before ordering, check your device's exact model in Settings > About phone. This is where S721B appears for the Galaxy S24 FE. Strict compatibility prevents an unusable part and a return.

Package contents and installation

You receive the front camera mounted on its connection ribbon cable. No tools are provided. Disassembling the Galaxy S24 FE requires a T5 Torx screwdriver, an unlocking tool or a small plastic lever to lift the screen. Installation takes fifteen to twenty minutes for a trained technician, thirty if it is your first time. The ribbon simply plugs in: Samsung proprietary connector with tab lock.

Warranty and quality control

This original Samsung part comes with a 2-year warranty from the shop. It was tested upon stock receipt. Any defect visible on the first video calls, any inability to connect or take a selfie during this period, will result in a replacement or refund. No normal wear falls under this coverage: any deterioration of the optics after six months of use falls under wear and tear.
